Started Pharmacy school at MUSC and now a Clinical Pharmacist at MUSC!

I graduated from Wofford College with a Biology degree and then applied to MUSC Pharmacy School! I worked as a pharmacy intern my third and fourth year of school and then stayed on after graduation to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. I worked 12hr shifts every Saturday and Sunday during the pandemic and anyday that extra help was needed -- this ultimately led to a job opening and an interview for a Clinical Pharmacist position at MUSC! :)

Work in the vaccine clinic and help implement new clinical initiatives

I help create and present outpatient treatment protocols to the Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee and Medical Executive board at MUSC in hopes to receive approval and allow Pharmacists to prescribe medications in the outpatient setting. These outpatient treatments include oral Covid-19 medications, contraception, UTI, and flu treatment. The goal is to provide easier access to patients in the outpatient setting without having to make an appointment.

I received approval for the first ever Outpatient protocol (CDTM)!

Helping to create and receive approval for the first ever Outpatient protocol (CDTM) at MUSC - Oral COVID-19 medications. Pharmacists will have the ability to prescribe Paxlovid or Lagevrio while reviewing patient charts and counseling patients in the outpatient setting. This ultimately will allow easier access for all patients and will allow opportunities for additional clinical initiatives to flourish - such as contraception, UTI, and flu treatment. The goal is to provide easier access to patients in the outpatient setting without having to make an appointment!
